I have always wanted to attend one of the events at Paul Clüver Family Wines' forest amphitheare, and so I was delighted to be invited by the family to attend their Pinot Noir and Fire event. Hosted on Heritage Day (24 September 2025), they teamed up with Bertus Basson to host a big braai with live music and wine. A very impressive display of braai skills – snoek and steak all in one – very innovative! We were entertained by Elvis Blue, clearly a favourite of Paul Clüver Jnr, as well as a young lass who kept us entertained with her dancing. She must have been family, as she seemed to know all the words! It was a chilly but heart-warming event, enjoyed by many. Our thoughts go to Bertus and his family as their pet pig, Spek, had died just the day before.
