South Africa Wine hosted the South Africa Wine Summit on Thursday, 28 May 2026 at the Stellenbosch University Conservatory in central Stellenbosch. Themed "@context is Key", it brought together leaders from across the wine value chain to reflect on the key economic, political and market forces influencing the South African wine industry today. Speakers at the summit, ranging from Nedbank's chief economist Nicky Weimar to political analyst Dr Mpumelelo Kansas Mkhabela, took stock of the economic headwinds, climate realities, and global trends that affect the production and consumption of South African wine.
