Diemersdal x De Wetshof Wineglobe Tasting at Galjoen Restaurant

Diemersdal and De Wetshof hosted wine media and trade for a comparative tasting of the only two wines in South Africa fermented and matured in glass Wineglobe containers: Diemersdal The Globe Sauvignon Blanc 2024 and De Wetshof The Shard Chardonnay 2025. The tasting took place on Tuesday, 23 June 2026 at Galjoen Restaurant in Cape Town.

Thys Louw, proprietor of Diemersdal, and Johann de Wet, CEO of De Wetshof, conducted the very informative tasting and presentation of the Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay.

The tasting was followed by a delicious seafood lunch prepared by the Galjoen team, and paired with wines by the two producers. Dishes included yellowfin tuna sashimi, West Coast oysters, seafood soup and bread, Cape Hope squid, pan-fried kabeljou fish and umfino, and tipsy tart with banana ice cream.
