Matching wines with food is quite the norm these days, but to match flowers to wine is a new trend. Alyson Kessel, style guru of note, launched her beautiful book entitled Birkenhead Blooms at Birkenhead Villa in Hermanus above the cliff paths and beaches. The wines paired with the delicious lunch were well chosen - Lomond single vineyard wines - all appropriately named Pin Cushion, Sugar Bush & Cone Bush, hailing from nearby just beyond Gansbaai.
